Hey Jorge,

Nice! The Z Series really is a monster, petite though it may be. It's sad to hear that the material quality sags a bit around the back---I'm always surprised when manufacturers allow a lapse like that, as it shows a misplacing of priorities of sorts.

Still, having used a Z Series for a while about a month ago, I can attest to the fact that it's a drop-dead gorgeous piece of hardware, and very zippy. I'm glad you made out so well!

Patrick,

I am the proud owner via a client of an outrageously expensive Sony Vaio Z series which is still as far as I know the lightest laptop available with an optical drive. This particular machine has a Core i7 running at 2.67 ghz, 6GB of RAM and dual SSD's totaling 356GB of usable storage and an incredibly sharp 1600x900 13" screen. The only boxes the client did not tick were the blue-ray writer and the carbon fiber display back. It is impossibly light and wicked fast though it is just a bit flimsy feeling due to the plastic used on the back of the screen. It did cost over $3k though.
